Meghan Markle's friend posts picture of Lilibet in adorable birthday tribute

Meghan Markle's pal has shared an adorable snap of Princess Lilibet on Instagram to mark her second birthday.

Misan Harriman reposted the sweet picture on her social media page with the simple message: "Happy Birthday".

The image was taken on June 6 2022, two days after her first birthday and shows the smiley toddler in a blue dress, enjoying the sunshine.

Meghan's friend was the official photographer at Lilibet's first birthday party at Frogmore Cottage and she also shared another precious photo of Archie on his fourth birthday, on May 6, which fell on the same day as the King and Queen's Coronation.

Harry and Meghan are believed to have celebrated Lilibet's birthday privately at their California home, the Mirror reports.

The tot was born on June 4, 2021 and was named after two special women in her father Prince Harry's life.

Harry's late grandmother Queen Elizabeth II had the nickname Lilibet as a child while her middle named Diana comes from his late mother, Princess Diana.

The Duke recalled how he felt at the time of his daughter's birth in his memoir Spare as he wrote: "I wanted to say: 'Hello'. I wanted to say: 'Where have you come from'?

"I wanted to say: 'Is it better there? Is it peaceful? Are you frightened? Don’t be, don’t be, all will be well. I’ll keep you safe'."

The first image of little Lilibet was officially released in December 2021 as a part of the Sussex family Christmas card.

The couple said in a statement, which was published by the Archewell Foundation: "This year, 2021, we welcomed our daughter, Lilibet, to the world. Archie made us a ‘Mama’ and a ‘Papa,’ and Lili made us a family."

Most details of the tot's life so far have been kept private by the Sussexes, who are now pursuing their own projects in the US after stepping down as royals in January 2020.
