Meghan Markle's former Suits co-star, Patrick J Adams, reveals he is too intimidated to call her

The Duchess of Sussex’s former co-star on Suits has said that he feels too “intimidated” to call her now.

Patrick J Adams played Mike Ross in the US legal drama, who was the love interest of Meghan Markle’s character, Rachel Zane. The actor explained that since his former colleague joined the royal family, he no longer feels comfortable getting in touch with her.

"Quite frankly, I think I'm intimidated," he told the Radio Times.

“I have no doubt I could pick up the phone and call her at any moment, but I don't know what I would say.”

The actor went on to say that he and Markle exchanged messages and gifts when their children were born but have not spoken much since.

“After our children were born, there were some texts sent and gifts sent, but I guess I'm a little scared,” he explained.

"I think it's pure fear. I guess I'm scared about the idea of breaking through whatever walls exist to have that conversation."

Adams went on to say that it’s hard to see the media scrutiny that Markle has been under since leaving Suits and marrying the Duke of Sussex.

“Knowing what's in Meghan's heart and knowing how compassionate she can be, it's hard to watch because you want your friends to be left alone to build their life together,” he said.

It’s not the first time Adams has commented on his former co-star’s new life.

In 2017, after Markle’s engagement to Prince Harry was announced, Twitter was flooded with congratulatory messages and reaction gifs.

But one of the best reactions to the engagement news was from Adams, who tweeted: “She said she was just going out to get some milk.”

The pair acted alongside each other for six years, playing work colleagues who become romantically involved and eventually get engaged.

Adams added in a subsequent tweet: "Playing Meghan’s television partner for the better part of a decade uniquely qualifies me to say this: Your Royal Highness, you are a lucky man and I know your long life together will be joyful, productive and hilarious.

“Meghan, so happy for you, friend. Much love.”
