Meghan Markle's "excited smiles" and "frequent giggles" in a brand new video interview make her look like she is on a "casting for the next big rom-com", a body language expert has claimed.
The duchess has appeared in a video, which goes alongside a bombshell new print interview, where she opened up about the Queen's death, her life with Prince Harry and their children Archie and Lilibet and her work. In the video (below), Meghan can be seen modelling various different designer outfits during a photoshoot for Variety magazine while giving tidbits on her life - such as the TV shows she and Harry like to watch and how her new podcast Archetypes is going. And according to body language expert Judi James, Meghan appears to be channeling Hollywood star Julia Roberts - especially with one "part concealed" gesture.
She told the Mirror: "Sweet, cute, coy, self-effacing and with a ‘what am I like? style of body language rituals, Meghan channels Julia Roberts with the giggling laugh that is part-concealed behind her hand like Robert’s classic look in Pretty Woman.
"Her feminist/campaigning body language is gone and instead we are shown Meghan the fashion model posing for photos; Meghan the lover of rom-coms; 'cheesy' Meghan who just enjoys 'looking at my kid'’ and the woman who shares so much of the pain in her life is smiling in a gesture of perfect happiness as she now says we should all 'enjoy what time we have'.
"Meghan's vocal tone is like a parent talking fondly to a child or a young woman to her best friends. The more intellectual body language is missing although, as she says, no woman should be 'one note' so this 'lightweight' body language is just an option.
"Overall she looks like she’s on a casting for the next big rom-com, with excited smiles and frequent giggles to match."
In her interview with Variety, which was published today, Meghan opened up about the Queen's death for the first time in a new interview, admitting it was a "complicated time" for the family, while also sharing Prince Harry's emotional remark about his grandmother's death.
Speaking for a cover story in the latest edition of Variety magazine, she also reflected on the time she spent with the Monarch, who died on September 8, and revealed how the royal family are coping with the loss.
She said: "There’s been such an outpouring of love and support. I’m really grateful that I was able to be with my husband to support him, especially during that time.
"What’s so beautiful is to look at the legacy that his grandmother was able to leave on so many fronts. Certainly, in terms of female leadership, she is the most shining example of what that looks like.
"I feel deep gratitude to have been able to spend time with her and get to know her. It’s been a complicated time, but my husband, ever the optimist, said, ‘Now she’s reunited with her husband.’
“I’ve reflected on that first official engagement that I had with her, how special that felt. I feel fortunate. And I continue to be proud to have had a nice warmth with the matriarch of the family.”
