Meghan Markle's disloyalty to the royal family on TV is a 'p*** take', says Gemma Collins

Gemma Collins has admitted she loves Prince Harry and Meghan but there's one thing they did that felt like a ‘p*** take’.

The reality TV veteran who started her career on TOWIE before entertaining fans on Celebrity Big Brother, Dancing on Ice and even a brief stint in the I'm A Celebrity jungle has weighed in on Harry and Meghan's move into telly.

“I've got to be honest, I really like Meghan and Harry," she exclusivey tells The Mirror.

"The only thing I would say is that they do need to be loyal to the family. They shouldn't be airing any sort of dirty laundry in public."

And it's one particular comment that Meghan made in her interview with Oprah Winfrey last year that Gemma didn't like.

"The only gripe I have with Meghan was when she called the family 'The Firm', I thought that was a bit near the mark," she said.

"Well, to be honest, it was a p*** take. I thought, 'Jesus you've got some balls' but I don't think I'd have the balls to... That's the only bit I didn't like I've got to be honest."

But Gemma is understanding of the couple's slip up as she knows that a lot can change in the edit.

"Look, no one knows what goes on behind closed doors, we only get told certain information," she said.

"We're not you know, within that circle and I think everyone in their lifetimes deserves to be a free spirit. Do what they want to do.

"Yes, they were royals and they decided to opt out of it. And I do think they've done a lot of good for everyone, they're highlighting many campaigns."

Gemma also appreciates that the former royals need to "earn an income" after leaving the UK for a new life in America.

"They've opted out of royal life, but they do have to earn an income," she said.

"And you never know what goes on, when I used to put stuff out on TV, you didn't always see the pre bit of what went on before it got cut and edited.

"So, look I think she's made her mistake she should never have called the royal family 'The Firm'.

"But Harry looks happy and is everyone going to be tuning in to watch it? Yes. And I just think, they're not in the royal family now, let them get on with it.”
