Meghan Markle's dad makes 'death bed plea' to 'lost daughter' in new TV interview

Meghan Markle's dad has made an emotional plea to 'fix' his relationship with his 'lost' daughter' as her family 'reunites' in a new TV interview. An upcoming episode of 7NEWS Spotlight on Australian TV promises to share "treasured memories, home truths and secret tapes" ahead of the coronation of King Charles.

The bombshell special, which is set to air on Channel 7 and 7Plus this Sunday (April 30), features interviews with Meghan's estranged dad Thomas and half-siblings Samantha and Thomas Jr. In a trailer for the episode, Samantha says the Duchess of Sussex "would still be a waitress if it wasn't for dad."

She also claims that Meghan and Prince Harry are "really unhealthy for each other", adding: "It's a toxic relationship." Meanwhile, her brother Thomas Jr is seen saying: "We're not going to go away... this is going to change everything", reported The Mirror.

Meanwhile, Thomas took a different tone to his children and made a "deathbed plea" to "the daughter he lost," which is set to air in the TV special. Thomas, who suffered from a stroke last year and confessed that he was "lucky to be alive", is seen breathlessly saying: "How can I fix this?"

Despite being estranged from her family, Meghan was said to be concerned for her father at the time of his stroke. A source told The Mirror: "She wants to know if there is any way to contact her father privately, without other family knowing about it or having to get involved."

The trailer also features snippets of various home videos, which feature a Meghan as a child. The "treasured childhood videos" include "never-before-seen footage" of the Duchess as her high school’s homecoming queen.

At one point, the trailer narrator declares: "The world has never seen Meghan like this". According to Channel 7, reporter Liam Bartlett interviewed the Markles at Samantha’s home in Florida.
