Meghan Markle looked back on her first visit to Dublin during her keynote speech at the One Young World summit in Manchester last night.
The Duchess of Sussex remembered her time in Dublin back in 2014. She spent a few days here as an ambassador for the One Young World summit and reflected on her experience.
She spoke about meeting a young woman from Eritrea during her trip, who told Meghan about the 'shocking' lengths she went to, to escape her homeland.

Meghan also paid tribute to former President of Ireland Mary Robinson and referred to her as "one of the people I admire most". The former actress first met Mrs Robinson at a summit in Canada in 2016. Mrs Robinson was among the speakers at last night's summit, as was Sir Bob Geldof.
This was Meghan's first in-person speech in the UK since quitting her work with the royal family two years ago. The scandal, referred to at the time as 'Megxit', shook the royals as Meghan and Harry moved to Canada. They are now living in LA.
The wife of Prince Harry told the 2,000 delegates about how her life has changed since she last attended the summit in London in 2019. She mentioned her role as a wife and a mother, however did not address her time as a royal.
“I joined you in London in 2019. And by that point, it’s fair to say, my life had changed rather significantly. I was now married, and I was now a mom,” she said.
“My world view had expanded exponentially, seeing the global community through the eyes of my child,” she added, speaking about her son Archie.
