Meghan Markle is now "completely estranged" from the Royal Family and they "won't miss her", an expert on the monarchy has claimed.
Daily Mail Diary Editor and royal expert Richard Eden made the comments after it was announced Meghan would not be attending the King's coronation.
It is said that Archie's fourth birthday - which falls on the same day - has been a factor in Meghan's decision to remain at home with her children. It is expected that Harry will only make a whistle stop trip to the UK.
Mr Eden wrote: "It appears to mark the complete estrangement of Meghan from her husband’s family as well as from her own, with the one exception of her mother, Doria.
"I can say with some confidence that Meghan will not be missed by the royals."
After weeks of speculation, Buckingham Palace announced that Harry will be there on May 6 for the historic event, but Meghan will stay in California with their children Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.
Since they both sensationally quit their royal roles in early 2020, Meghan has only returned to the UK three times. The latest was last year when she and Harry were in the country for charity appearances when the late Queen died. Both subsequently attended her funeral.
But according to royal expert and author Robert Jobson, it is now hard to imagine when Meghan might come back to the UK for a royal event in the future.
Speaking to The Sun, he said: "It is good news that Harry has accepted the invite and will be there to support his father.
"It is the most pragmatic move in a difficult situation and Harry has got it right. He would deeply regret it if he didn't attend the biggest day of his father's life.
"But the fact his wife is not attending means it is now highly unlikely we will ever see her attend an official or Palace event again — apart from maybe the King's funeral."
His comments come after friends of the Sussexes told The Telegraph Meghan considers her future to be in the US. It was also reported that her appearance at the Coronation risked "overshadowing the event".
King Charles is reportedly disappointed Meghan and his grandchildren won’t attend his Coronation next month.
A source told The Sun : “The King is happy that Harry, his son, who he calls his ‘darling boy’ will be at the Abbey.
"He wanted him there. It is sad, he is very disappointed that he won’t see Meghan or his grandchildren but understands the situation.”
Mr Eden added that "Meghan will never again stay at Frogmore Cottage, her ‘forever’ home at Windsor that the couple have been forced to give up."
