Meghan Markle makes major move to show she prioritizes family over public events

Meghan Markle left Prince Harry alone in Canada to reunite with their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, a decision that a royal expert claims was intended to emphasize her dedication to family life. The Duchess of Sussex joined Harry for the first four days of the Invictus Games, where her affectionate public appearances sparked criticism.

However, her early departure has led to speculation about her motives, with some suggesting she aimed to dispel ongoing divorce rumors, while others believe she simply prioritized her role as a mother. Royal expert Hugo Vickers weighed in on the decision, arguing that Meghan’s absence allowed Harry to focus on the athletes competing in the Games rather than becoming a distraction.

“I think probably the main reason that she went back was to be with the children, because they obviously take that very seriously, and she had been away for four or five days,” Vickers told The Sun. He further emphasized that Harry’s presence at the Games should be about supporting the participants rather than being overshadowed by his wife’s public image.

“Secondly, I think it’s very important that Prince Harry should be concentrating on the participants of the Invictus Games and supporting them,” he said. Vickers suggested that the event benefited from Harry attending solo, preventing what he referred to as the “Meghan Markle Show” from dominating headlines.

“It’s a much better look for the Games to have him there on his own, rather than it being a Meghan Markle Show, which it has been to some extent at the beginning,” he added. “So I think that’s really what it’s about.”

Meghan’s departure has sparked mixed reactions. While some view it as a natural decision for a mother to miss her children, others speculate that it was a strategic move to avoid further media scrutiny. The Sussexes, who have faced ongoing public speculation about the state of their marriage and their post-royal life, continue to navigate their evolving roles on the global stage.

With Harry remaining in Canada to champion the cause he holds dear, Meghan’s decision to leave may reflect an effort to balance her commitments between public appearances and family life—an ongoing challenge for the high-profile couple.
