Meghan Markle lets slip her sweet two-word nickname for Prince Harry in new podcast

Meghan Markle's eagerly awaited podcast Archetypes has finally seen its first episode drop on Spotify.

And not only did it feature a chat with Meghan's friend and tennis superstar Serena Williams, but there was also a cameo appearance by Prince Harry. Just before Meghan and Serena dive into their interview, Harry can be heard in the background before his wife beckons him over to say hello. And as Harry greets their friend Serena before going about his day, Meghan lets slip her affectionate two-word nickname for him. The exchange starts with Meghan saying to Harry: "Hi! You wanna come say hi? Look who just popped in."

Serena then adds: "Hello! Hello there!” and Harry can be heard saying “How you doin?” with the Grand Slam champ saying: “Good, how are you?”

Harry then says: “I like what you’ve done with your hair! That’s a great vibe.”

When Harry decides to leave them to their chat, he tells the women to have fun, and Meghan reveals his nickname by saying: "Thanks, my love!"

In the nearly hour-long podcast, Meghan spoke to Serena about "the double standard women face".

Meghan said: "So, I don’t remember ever personally feeling the negative connotation behind the word ambitious until I started dating my now husband.

"And um, apparently ambition is, uh… a terrible, terrible thing, for a woman that is – according to some."

Meanwhile, Meghan also told of how her and Harry’s son Archie narrowly escaped a fire in his bedroom w hen he was meant to be sleeping, during the Sussexes' tour of South Africa.

She said Archie's then-nanny, named only as Lauren, had taken the four-and-a-half-month-old with her downstairs instead while she went to get a snack while meanwhile, the heater in the nursery caught fire.

The former Suits star told how they had dropped their young son at the housing unit they were staying in for a sleep straight after arriving on their official tour, with Meghan and Harry leaving to carry out a visit to the Nyanga township, where the duchess delivered a speech.

She revealed: "There was this moment where I'm standing on a tree stump and I'm giving this speech to women and girls, and we finish the engagement, we get in the car and they say there's been a fire at the residence."

Meghan added: "We came back. And, of course, as a mother, you go, 'Oh, my God, what?' Everyone's in tears, everyone's shaken. And what do we have to do? Go out and do another official engagement? I said, 'This doesn't make any sense'."

The launch of Archetypes comes close to two years after Archewell Audio's partnership was Spotify was first announced.

Meghan and Harry signed a lucrative deal with the audio streaming giant to host and produce podcasts, estimated to be worth around £18million in late 2020.
