Meghan Markle hopes for ‘meaningful friendship’ with new neighbour Jennifer Aniston

Meghan Markle is said to be “excited” about a potential “meaningful friendship” with Jennifer Aniston, after the Friends star purchased a property in the same California neighbourhood where she lives with her husband, Prince Harry.

Jennifer, 53, is reportedly set to move in to Oprah Winfrey's estate in the affluent coastal enclave of Montecito – just over 90 miles from Los Angeles – where the Duke and Duchess of Sussex now reside. The royal couple are said to be big fans of the Hollywood actress, a feeling Jennifer reciprocates.

Speaking to Heat magazine, an insider said: “Jennifer is a big fan of Harry and Meghan and has heard some wonderful things about them via Oprah and other mutual acquaintances.” The source revealed Jennifer hopes to hang out with the couple and their famous friends at dinner parties, with an invite to her housewarming party also on the cards.

The source continued: “Jen and Meghan are both really excited to see each other and see if they can build a meaningful friendship.” They added Harry and Meghan are both “huge fans” of the Horrible Bosses star and are said to be “starstruck” at the idea of meeting her.

Jennifer and former Suits actress Meghan are also said to share several common interests, according to the source, including a “passion for yoga.” They said: “As dog lovers they'll be able to take relaxing walks on the beach, and maybe do some wine tasting – it's going to be an absolute blast and they cannot wait.”

Meghan and Harry have been spending time in the UK following the death of his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, and are set to return home to California shortly after the mourning period. A source close to the Royals told US Weekly the Duke and Duchess are anxious to return to the US after not seeing their children, Archie, 3, and Lilibet, 15 months, for almost three weeks.

They added it is the “longest amount of time” the couple had been away from their children, after they headed to Europe on September 4 for a trip that was scheduled to last less than a week.
