Meghan Markle reportedly has no plans to skulk into the background after her media empire suffers a series of setbacks.
The former Suits actress, 41, has seen her career take a series of knocks in recent weeks after her podcast was scrapped and a Spotify executive called her and husband Prince Harry a pair of "grifters".
The accusation that the royals had swindled their way to the $20million (£16million) deal with Spotify came after it emerged they had only produced 13 hours of content for the streaming giant.
It's also been reported that Taylor Swift turned down the opportunity to appear on Meghan's now-scrapped podcast throwing the couple's relevance and star-pulling power into question.
According to the Telegraph, Meghan wrote a "personal letter" to Taylor, asking her to appear on Archetypes, "but the singer declined, through a representative".
But now it's emerged that Meghan is already planning her next steps, as they attempted to be financially independent after breaking away from the Royal Family.
"The thinking on Meghan's part is that they owe it to themselves to fight back and make a success of things, however much that costs and however challenging it may be in some cases," a source told Closer magazine.
"She's told the team that her new plan simply can't fail."
The source claims that Meghan is now determined to "prove the haters wrong" and come back swinging.
"She feels she's been backed into a corner - her next move will be explosive to say the least."
The Mirror has contacted Meghan's representatives for comment.
Meghan hosted the podcast Archetypes, which ran for 12 episodes from August last year.
They were said to be facing fresh disappointment earlier this week as their application to trademark the word "Archetypes" has been rejected.
Harry and Meghan had submitted an application to get exclusive rights to "Archetypes", which is the name of their podcast, but the US Patent and Trademark Office has refused.
Harry and Meghan filed the application to try and obtain exclusive use of "Archetypes" for " downloadable audio recordings and podcasts " and anything related to the "cultural treatment of women and stereotypes facing women."
However, officials have rejected the application due to the "likelihood of confusion" with an existing brand.
Meghan and Harry's lawyer, Majorie Witter Norman, has now applied for an extra three months in order to prepare another application.
