Meghan Markle has broken cover and been seen for the first time since Prince Harry released his controversial memoir, Spare - in an ad for coffee.
The Duchess of Sussex features in a new promo video on Instagram for Clevr Blends - a wellness coffee brand that she invested in several years ago.
It was one of the first investments she made after stepping down as a working royal in early 2020, although it is not known exactly how much she has ploughed into the business.
The video was posted on the Clevr Blends Instagram account and shows founder Hannah Mendoza introducing the brand and welcoming Meghan, dressed in jeans and a relaxed trench jacket, while they sip coffee.
Hannah then explains the origin of the superfood lattes and says: "People fell in love with the drink and really wanted to make them at home.
"Three years ago, everything changed. None other than Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, had started drinking our lattes.
"Not only did she love the product but she was extremely passionate about female founders and sustainable sourcing.
"Meghan ended up becoming our first investor, advisor and biggest Clevr advocate.
"She even sent our tumeric latte to friends. A few days later, I open my phone to see Oprah herself making our superlatte in our kitchen.
"Our small but mighty team was so not ready for this and ended up selling out for two months."
"We grew our team. launched amazing new products and decided to dip our toe into retail. We owe so much of that to women uplifting women....we have big plans for the future."
The promo video then ends, however Meghan is not seen speaking in it.
When she invested in the company, it was reported that the duchess prompted fury from the palace by enlisting Oprah to help plug the brand.
Oprah, one of the world's richest women, uploaded a video on her personal Instagram page boasting to her millions of followers how she’d received a gift from "my neighbour M" featuring the products.
The clue was followed by a crown emoji - a nod to her pal’s royal connections. A royal source said at the time: "It is hard to see how emojis apparently trading on royal connections is respecting the values of the royal family."
Meghan's appearance in the video marks a return to public life since the release of Harry's book and the furore over a controversial South Park episode.
Last month, it was claimed that Meghan may have raised "gentle concerns" about whether Harry's memoir was the right move.
The book includes claims that Prince William physically attacked Harry, and that King Charles put his own interests above his son's.
Harry makes allegations against his stepmother Queen Camilla and claims she "sacrificed me on her personal PR altar".
The memoir has proved controversial and has led some to question if Harry can ever repair his relationship with his royal relatives or if he will attend his father's coronation in May.
But according to The Telegraph, Harry's wife Meghan is understood to have been more wary than him when it came to his memoir project.
A source told the publication "media-savvy" Meghan may have voiced gentle concerns about if releasing the memoir was the right move.
However, once Harry decided to press ahead with the project, she is said to have offered him her full support.
The source said: "Is this the way she would have approached things? Possibly not. But she will always back him and would never have got involved in promoting such a personal project.
"This was about his own life, his journey and his own perspective."
