Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are not on the guest list to visit The Queen at Balmoral this summer, according to reports.
It was earlier claimed that the Queen invited the US-based couple to Balmoral this summer, in a move seen as an extended olive branch.
But multiple sources have since said that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will not be going to visit Harry’s grandmother - and that they were not invited.
The couple will remain in the US ahead of Prince Harry's much anticipated memoir, which this week was reported to have had sign-off from his legal team.
The Sussexes spent some time with the monarch during the Platinum Jubilee celebrations earlier this year, during which they finally introduced their daughter Lilibet to her great-grandmother.
Queen Elizabeth spoke with the Sussexes, Page Six reports, but Harry and Meghan found the Platinum Jubilee celebrations "difficult", a royal expert claimed.
Tina Brown, royal author, appeared on Lorraine in June as she spoke about the Sussexes decision to come to the Jubilee celebrations to mark the Queen's 70 year reign.
Harry and Meghan attended one of the Jubilee events, but weren't present at the rest of them and the royal expert has claimed it must have been tough for Harry to watch on from the sidelines.
"It was great that they were able to introduce Lillibet to the Queen. I'm sure that everyone wanted that to happen. But it clearly was uncomfortable that they were there but not really present. It was awkward," she said on the ITV show.
The Duke and Duchess have met with the Queen on a handful of occasions so far in 2022 in a bid to rebuild bridges - although each meeting was fairly brief.
In April, Prince Harry visited his beloved grandmother in a secret visit as he travelled to the Netherlands for the Invictus Games.
Then, during last month’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations, the Queen met her namesake great-granddaughter for the first time.
As heartwarming as it would have been for all, aides kept the 15-minute meeting formal before they were sent on their way.
The Mirror has contacted a representative for Meghan and Harry for comment.
