Meghan Markle and Prince Harry could rival David and Victoria Beckham and make millions

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle "are going to go down the brand route" to rival the likes of David and Victoria Beckham, according to a culture expert.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have recently parted ways with Spotify, sparking a lot of speculation about what their next steps are.

There were rumours that Meghan was set to sign a deal with Dior, but the popular fashion house said there is no collaboration project in the works.

Now culture and brand expert Nick Ede has said the couple are likely to try and "emulate" the Beckham brand by "creating this whole sort of lifestyle environment that people buy into."

"I think they will look at those business models that the Beckhams have done, whether that’s monetising their suits, monetising their eyewear or monetising their fragrance.

"Maybe they might even come out with a scent or be the face of one of these products," he said.

Nick suggested that the Sussexes could make money from eyewear, fragrances, hair-care and makeup.

He explained how Meghan will be "eyeing up" Victoria's beauty range to get tips for her own brand.

Nick also said the Duke and Duchess of Sussex could "play on their looks" to achieve success.

Speaking to OK!, he said: "They are a glamorous couple like the Beckhams and they are both families with kids – that’s a really strong way of creating a brand identity."

While Nick said Harry and Meghan might look to Victoria and David for inspiration, he said they have a long way to go before they rival the Beckham brand.

Offering some tips on how to catch up, he suggested the Sussexes should return to social media to use it to promote their brand.

Nick also suggested that Harry could take some inspiration from David if he decides to go down the fashion route.

His comments come after Meghan and Harry were reportedly asked by Netflix to come up with "more great ideas" if they want to pick up $50million (£40 million) in outstanding fees.

Discussing the Netflix arrangement, the source told the Sun : "Netflix was pleased to sign Harry and Meghan and is looking for some great ideas going forward.

"But the remainder of the deal relies on them producing those good ideas. The deal's continually under review which is normal for ones of this magnitude."
