Meghan and Harry appear on the big screen at the LA Lakers

Meghan and Harry have been spotted enjoying the LA Lakers basketball team clash with the Memphis Grizzlies in a rare public appearance in their home state.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were caught on camera, which was projected onto the big screen at Los Angeles’ Crypto.com Arena on Monday evening, smiling and laughing together.

Meghan was seen giggling when she noticed they were being filmed. She grabbed Harry’s arm playfully as it appeared the royal was about to lean in for a kiss.

Fans could be heard cheering in the video posted to Twitter.

Other stars in attendance included Kim Kardashian and Adam Sandler.

The couple appeared to be enjoying a night away from their two children Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, ahead of Harry’s return to the UK for his father’s coronation.

The Duke of Sussex will be attending King Charles III coronation in London on May 6 but Meghan will remain in Montecito, where the couple have lived since March 2020.

Their LA appearance comes a day after Meghan made a surprise video appearance in friend and photographer Misan Marriman’s TED Talk.

"Our next speaker has an unmatched eye for a good photograph. I’ve experienced his talent firsthand as he’s captured many meaningful milestones for me and my family, and I know there are many others who share in this experience," Meghan said of Harriman, who has served as the family’s photographer for years.

May 6 is Archie’s fourth birthday, and the youngster’s celebrations played a part in the Duchess’s decision to remain in the US, sources said.

Harry’s attendance will see him appear in a public setting with Charles, Camilla, his brother the Prince of Wales, sister in law the Princess of Wales and the rest of his family for the first time since he lambasted the royals in his memoirs.

The Duchess of Sussex has denied reports about not attending the King’s coronation because of a letter she sent expressing concern over unconscious bias in the royal family.
