Megan Thee Stallion tells Tory Lanez trial she was told to dance then shot in feet

Rap star Megan Thee Stallion told a court she was shot in the feet by a fellow performer after a row on the way home from a party at the Hollywood Hills home of Kylie Jenner.

The Grammy-winning artist, whose real name is Megan Pete, said Tory Lanez, 30, opened fire as she got out of a car they were in, telling her to “dance bitch” and leaving her feet covered in blood.

Giving evidence to a jury in Los Angeles on Tuesday, she said: “I’m in shock. I’m scared. I hear the gun going off, and I can’t believe he’s shooting at me.”

The defendant — real name Daystar Peterson — is on trial accused of discharging a firearm with gross negligence, assault with a semi-automatic firearm and carrying a loaded, unregistered firearm in a vehicle. He denies the charges.

The court heard Pete was wearing a bikini when the incident happened on July 12, 2020, following an alleged row in the car when she is said to have insulted Peterson and disparaged his musical talent.

The 27-year-old claimed she had been offered $1 million not to pursue the case, and broke down in tears during her evidence as she expressed regret for speaking up about the incident. “I just don’t feel good — I can’t believe I have to come in here and do this”, she said. “I wish he would’ve just shot and killed me if I knew I was going to have to go through this torture.”

The court heard bullet fragments were removed from her feet but some remain, causing her difficulty walking in certain shoes.

The court heard she initially told police that her injuries were from broken glass. “At the time, we are at the height of police brutality”, she said, referring to racial unrest in the US in 2020. “I felt like if I said this man has just shot me, they might shoot first and ask questions later.” Peterson’s attorney George Mgdesyan said that Pete could not have seen who the gunman was, asking jurors to keep an open mind before all the evidence is heard. The trial continues.
