Megan Thee Stallion teases Stranger Things fans with cryptic Instagram post

Megan Thee Stallion has teased her fans with a cryptic Instagram post that appears to suggest she may gearing up for a role in the next season of Stranger Things.

The 27-year-old American rapper shared a photo on Friday which saw her holding a Stranger Things title card in front of a green-screen. Another snap sees Megan sat in a director’s chair bearing the Netflix logo while seemingly sat in front of a make-up mirror.

The Cry Baby singer could also be seen wearing black widow nail art, which fans of the Netflix series would recognise from its fourth season after the villain Henry Creel/Vecna developed a kinship with the arachnids after finding a nest in his childhood home. Megan is known to be a fan of Netflix’s flagship series, having previously discussed the show with one of its stars, Natalia Dyer, on a US talk show.

Fans and fellow celebs were in a frenzy over Megan’s post, as her comments section was inundated with love hearts and fire emojis. One fan commented: “Dontttttttt play with me right now.”

“I’m going to pass out,” said another.

Actress Bella Thorne replied: “R u kidding me,” followed by a fire emjoi.

Megan is no stranger to the screen, having recently appeared in NBC’s Good Girls in 2019 and more recently boasting a cameo in Marvel’s She-Hulk: Attorney at Law. Despite her hinting at an exciting new role, Stranger Things creators The Duffer Brothers, Matt and Ross, have previously suggested its fifth and final season may not feature any new characters.

Speaking to NME in August, Ross said: “Whenever we introduce a new character, we want to make sure they’re going to be an integral part of the narrative. But every time we do that, we’re nervous because you go, ‘We’ve got a great cast of characters here, and any moment we’re spending with a new character, we’re taking time away from one of the other actors.’

“So we’re just very, very careful about who we’re introducing.”

Stranger Things is one of Netflix’s most successful original outputs, with its fourth season becoming the second title on the streaming service to achieve more than one billion hours viewed within its first 28 days of release. Its fifth and final season is expected to begin filming in 2023 to be premiered late in the year or early 2024.
