Meg Ryan makes rare public outing to support Michael J Fox at screening of new Parkinson’s disease documentary

Meg Ryan made a rare public appearance to support Michael J Fox in New York.

Prior to this, the American actress, 61, had not been seen in public for six months.

She made an exception, however, as she stepped out for a special screening of her long-time friend’s new Parkinson’s disease documentary, Still, which was held at Alice Tully Hall at Lincoln Center.

Other VIP attendees at the star-studded event included Bill Murray and Elvis Costello.

The When Harry Met Sally star wore a black jacket, which she paired with brown plaid trousers and chucky boots.

Flashing a smile as she posed for pictures with Fox, she boasted a wrinkle-free complexion and wore her trademark blonde hair long and flowing.

Ryan is best known for playing the leading lady in a number of rom-coms released in the 1990s, such as Sleepless In Seattle, City of Angels and You’ve Got Mail.

She has taken a step back from the limelight in recent years, but last May saw her announce her return to the big screen with the upcoming movie What Happens Later.

Fox’s documentary, which will stream on Apple TV+, looks at the actor’s life as he deals with Parkinson’s disease over three decades after his first diagnosis.
