Meg Ryan Enjoys Shopping Date With Daughter In New York

Meg Ryan was recently seen enjoying a leisurely shopping outing with her 20-year-old daughter, Daisy, in New York City. The mother-daughter duo was spotted perusing books at McNally Jackson Bookstore in Soho before heading to Tribeca for some clothing shopping. Both Ryan and Daisy appeared content as they walked around the city in casual attire.

Ryan, aged 62, exuded effortless style in a simple white long-sleeved top paired with black cargo pants, black sneakers, and a matching crossbody bag. Daisy opted for a butterfly-printed button-up top tucked into blue jeans, accessorized with a black belt, white sneakers, and layered bracelets. Ryan adopted Daisy from China in 2006 when she was around 2 years old.

In a heartfelt interview with Glamour in December 2023, Ryan expressed her deep connection with Daisy, stating, 'I’m convinced of magic because of our relationship. We were destined.' The actress also shares a 32-year-old son, Jack, with her former husband, actor Dennis Quaid. Ryan and Quaid were married for ten years before divorcing in 2001.

Ryan fondly described her children as 'the best hang' and 'so alive in their curiosity and interest in the world.' She further praised Daisy and Jack as 'two of the greatest kids' in an interview with People in October 2023. Jack, following in his parents' footsteps, has pursued acting and has appeared in notable projects such as 'The Hunger Games' and 'Oppenheimer.'

While Jack has ventured into acting, Daisy, currently an undergraduate student, has not indicated any plans to pursue a career in the entertainment industry. The recent mother-daughter outing occurred after Ryan made a rare red carpet appearance at the Sarajevo Film Festival in Europe, where she was honored with the Honorary Heart of Sarajevo award for her contributions to the film industry.

In her acceptance speech at the festival, Ryan expressed gratitude for the example set by the attendees during the Siege of Sarajevo, highlighting the resilience of art and culture in times of adversity. The festival, established in 1995 during the Bosnian War, serves as a testament to the power of diversity and the ability of art to foster connection and combat isolation.
