The voice behind "La Jefa"

Jessica Ortiz, a seasoned Mexican voice actress and broadcaster, has been in the entertainment industry for over 27 years. Her journey began in voice work at the age of 9, and by 15, she professionally entered the dubbing world after meeting a director.

"I started voice acting at nine, but at 15, I met a dubbing director and thought, 'I want to do this.' He laughed, but I got serious, studied acting, and kept training," Ortiz shared in an interview. Her dedication transformed her into the renowned dubbing actress she is today.

Ortiz has lent her voice to several major productions, including 'New Girl,' where she voices protagonist Jess Day (originally played by Zooey Deschanel)—an experience she cherishes due to the fast-paced, witty dialogue.

Her portfolio also includes roles in 'Avatar,' 'Shark Tale,' 'Ralph Breaks the Internet,' and 'Flushed Away.'

Additionally, she has dubbed Hollywood stars like Gal Gadot, Drew Barrymore, Jessica Alba, and Michelle Monaghan.

She thrives on challenging roles, embracing characters that push her creativity. "Dubbing isn't just about the voice; it requires rhythm and constant practice, like learning to drive," she explains.

With nearly 200,000 Instagram followers, Ortiz shares glimpses of her personal and professional life while also teaching voice acting online, inspiring new talents in the entertainment industry.
