Meet the team behind 'the kinkiest burger room in Belfast'

A new fast food restaurant in East Belfast has certainly got heads turning and tongues wagging for all the right reasons.

Dubbed "the kinkiest burger room in Belfast", SixtyNine Burgers and Filth has just opened its doors on the Belmont Road and is already causing quite a stir.

It's the brainchild of local man Wayne Black, whose dream team are serving up the "sexiest and filthiest burgers and fries anywhere in Belfast" along with a promise that "you won’t be disappointed".

And we certainly weren't disappointed here in Belfast Live when we paid a visit this week.

SixtyNine is the latest business venture for Wayne, 39, who has already enjoyed success in recent years with his freshly-made and nutritionally-balanced gourmet meals range, Seventy.

"We started up a dark kitchen at Boucher Road, offering healthy meals from Seventy during the day and dirty meals at night with SixtyNine - like two sisters really!" Wayne said.

"Last year we proudly partnered Seventy with the Belfast Giants for the 22/23 season, providing all their post-training and game meals.

"Seventy has also now branched out to outside catering too and bringing the restaurant quality food we prepare for the Giants to the general public.

"But we've always wanted to take SixtyNine out of South Belfast and bring it to all of the city and beyond so that's what we're now doing with our first place here on Belmont Road.

"We held our first ever Pop Up in March at Cleaver in Holywood, which went down like a dream."

The menu at SixtyNine features a range of mouth-watering gourmet burgers from ‘Big Wet Daddy’ and ‘Blue Movie’ to 'Absolutely Banging' and 'Pornstar' loaded fries and all available for collection or delivery.

And it takes a special kind of someone to get into bed with their ‘Ménage a trois' burger - 18 ozs of complete meat in a bun - one of the stars of the show on the menu.

"The playful names certainly are an ice-breaker when people place their order but it works. At the end of the day the food speaks for itself and no-one leaves disappointed," Wayne added.

The new business blends perfectly into the bustling Belmont Road, which has long been a hub for food lovers from across the city due to the numerous local cafes and eateries on offer.

SixtyNine is located just a few doors up from another new offering, Belmont Larder, which opened earlier this month.

"We've only been open here in the east of the city for two weeks but already the response has been fantastic. We've had great reviews and broken loads of targets already," Wayne added.

"We're offering restaurant quality food, made using fresh local ingredients and cooked to order everyday for

"It's been absolutely unreal to see all our old customers and new from every part of Belfast and beyond coming in to see us. The Belmont Road is a champion location and it's now the place people want to go to."

If you've yet to pay a visit to SixtyNine Burgers and Filth - the message is "get down and get dirty".
