She said: “It’s been good, we had been chasing this place for a year and thank God in October, we got it. Nothing’s changed on the menu yet, we have vegan burgers but we get customers asking for other burgers too like chicken so we’re planning to have more with little sides to go with them.

Kay was previously a sales assistant in an office based job. She now works alongside her husband. The couple live in Eastwood.
She continued and said: “We’re now open on a Sunday, the first Sunday wasn’t like Saturdays but it was okay, a lot of elderly people come in everyday for the scones we make, they're homemade daily. In case they didn’t know we’re open on Sundays because they might not have social media, we left flyers around.”
Kay said that currently, the Crimson Full English breakfast is the most popular item on the menu. It costs £12.50.
Talking more about the menu, Kay added: “We have a chef who is Italian so we’re thinking about doing a pizza night once a month and maybe a tapas night, we’re still settling in and learning different things. I’ve learnt to bake, make coffee, and face-to-face customer service, I’ve never done anything like this before.”
Customers have spoken out about their love for the cafe. Andrew Jarren, 76 and retired, is from Sherwood. He said: “It’s a lovely place, I go maybe once every two weeks. The place is decorated well too, my wife always admires the chandeliers in there. We like a cup of tea, coffee and a scone.”
Claire Allen, 34 a dental assistant from Sherwood said: “I’ve always liked the Crimson Tree, I go there when I can. It’s an ideal place to meet a friend, I remember when it first opened years ago, it’s somewhere different and in the summer it’s nice to sit outside and there’s shade from all the trees.”
