GBBO: Meet the Glasgow Bake Off contestant as Channel 4 issues scheduling announcement

The Great British Bake Off is returning to our screens and this year a hopeful baker from Glasgow is hoping to win the title.

Following the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, TV schedules have been changed over the last couple of days but Channel 4 have confirmed that the much loved Bake Off is airing as scheduled on Tuesday, September 13.

A total of 13 bakers are set to go head-to-head in the iconic Bake Off tent to prove to judges Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith that they are the greatest amature baker in the UK.

In amongst the group is James, 25, who grew up in Glasgow and a nuclear Scientist.

Proud kilt-wearer James grew up in the east-end of Glasgow and moved to England after university. He is a self-proclaimed board- game geek and loves horror films from the 70s and 80s.

He has admitted to being a huge music fan and likes to reflect that in his baking, which he says has improved greatly in comparison to when he was burning pancakes in his mother's kitchen.

Being a nuclear scientist, he enjoys the technical side of baking, but is in his element when he makes his bakes his own, with his signature ‘child-friendly horror’ style and adorable decoration. His favourite flavours are anything autumnal, such as mixed spice, apples and caramel.

What time is Great British Bake Off on?

The Great British Bake Off is on at 8pm until 9.30pm on Tuesday September 13 on Channel 4.

Judges Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith are returning along with hosts Noel Fielding and Matt Lucas.
