Meet the finalists for our Translation Hero Award

With the CSIRO sponsoring the Translation Hero Award in the InnovationAus 2023 Awards for Excellence, the entry pool fittingly attracted competition of the highest calibre in scientific and technological research and development.

Across the 2023 InnovationAus Awards for Excellence nominees, there were many, many examples of translation successes, from plant-based production of ‘meat’ products, to improved mineral processing efficiencies, while also scaling the realms of space initiatives. Whether corporate, startup-based or collaborations, the Translation Hero Award category attracted a variety of entrants .

Diraq Pty Ltd – Sydney-based Diraq is a world leader in silicon-based quantum computing. It aims to leverage more than 50 years of R&D investment by the semiconductor industry to use silicon as the base material to build a quantum processor.

Shrimp Multipath – With its emphasis on creating higher quality consumer products, the CSIRO-developed Shrimp MultiPath (also a finalist in the Food & AgriTech Award category) is a prawn pathogen detection system that helps prawn farmers identify and manage the onset and eradication of potential diseases.

Femtek ‘Hero’ – Femtek’s basal body ring is a world first in providing accurate data, customised suggestions and meaningful insights into menstrual health, on a daily basis.

Now in its third year, the InnovationAus 2023 Awards for Excellence are proudly supported by Australian Computer Society, Technology Council of Australia, Investment NSW, Agile Digital, CSIRO, TechnologyOne, IP Australia, METS Ignited and Q-CTRL.

Our two new leadership categories are currently being judged by an eminent panel of industry peers, so watch this space for the finalists to be announced in these categories as we get closer to the event..

The InnovationAus Awards for Excellence 2023 winners will be announced at the Gala Dinner on Wednesday, 1 November, at the Hordern Pavilion, Sydney. You can book your tickets to the event here.
