New series are forever coming onto platforms such as Netflix, but one cowboy-themed drama is tipped to be the next big thing.
Ransom Canyon is coming to Netflix – and it is expected to be one we will be adding to our watchlists very soon.
Dubbed a modern day cowboy romance saga, the show is set in the fictional ranching town of Ransom Canyon and will centre on the will they/won't they budding romance between head rancher Staten and long-time friend Quinn, played by Josh Duhamel and Minka Kelly.
The series will also follow the story of other townsfolk and the ranching town which is seeing “increased pressure” from those living outside it.
Here’s who we can expect to see on our screens for the show, which has started streaming today (Thursday, April 17).
Josh Duhamel as Staten Kirkland
Known for his role in the Avengers series, Duhamel will take on the role of Staten, the owner of the Double K Ranch, who is still reeling from the death of his son, who passed a year ago.
Minka Kelly as Quinn O'Grady
Quinn has been in love with Staten for a long time, but the pair have never made it work.... but will they now?
Previously, Kelly’s Quinn was a successful concert pianist In New York, but she returns to her hometown of Ransom Canyon to start a new chapter in her life.
Lizzy Greene as Lauren Brigman
The daughter of the sheriff, Lauren, played by Nickelodeon star Lizzy Greene, is you typical popular teen who wants to move out of her hometown for bigger and better things.
She is desperate to get out of Ransom Canyon so as not to end up like her mother. Despite being popular at school, she's finds herself in a tricky set-up with two boys who like her.
James Brolin as Cap Fuller
Not fazed by much, James Brolin takes on the role of weathered reach owner Cap Fuller. Cap is famous in the town as one of the oldest ranch owners in Ransom Canyon, but he remains jaded by the loss he's suffered.
Eoin Macken as Davis Collins
Irishman Eoin Macken will take on the role of another head ranch owner.
Davis is the brother of Staten's late wife, Amalah, and is one of the other big three ranchers in Ransom Canyon.
Marianly Tejada as Ellie Catawnee
No stranger to a Netflix hit, Marianly Tejada has been in Orange is the New Black, and the hit film One of Us Is Lying.
She plays Ellie, the lady who manages Quinn's dance hall and is a close friend of Cap's, dropping by his ranch regularly.
Jack Schumacher as Yancy Grey
Schumacher recently starred in the Top Gun: Maverick movie, but he is now turning his sights on the new Texan drama.
He plays Yancy, a new rancher who has come to work for Cap, who doesn’t mince his words and is an enigmatic addition to Ransom Canyon. But, over time, it appears he is harbouring secrets about his past.
