Meet Khloe Kardashian's Dublin hair stylist Andrew Fizsimons who dropped out of school at 14

Andrew Fitzsimons was just a 13-year-old kid in Ballinteer when he was hanging out with his mum and her friends at a local hair salon and found his calling.

It was a place where he felt acceptance for the very first time, and hair quickly became his obsession. He has since become a renowned hairdresser, travelling to Paris, London, New York and Los Angeles as a stylist where he worked with people like Mariah Carey, Adele, Bella Hadid and Jennifer Lopez.

Soon he was taken under the wings of the Kardashian-Jenner family, with Khloe taking him on as her hair stylist. He once told Ryan Tubridy on the Late Late Show: "When I work with Khloe we're just laughing the whole time, like all day every day".

Khloe Kardashian was back in the news today after she announced she expecting a second baby with Tristan Thompson via surrogate.

Here’s everything we know about his career and his relationship with Khloe, Kim, Kourtney, Kendall, Kylie and their momager Kris Jenner:

His life in Dublin

After working in a salon for the summer, in September of second year Andrew went back to school and he realised it wasn't for him.

He told Independent.ie Style: “I wanted to be out working and give myself the education I wasn’t getting. I was happy to leave and be good at something. Two weeks later, at 14 years-old, I made the executive decision to leave school, much to my mum’s dismay."

Andrew spent a couple of years working as an apprentice and became popular with Irish celebrities like Grainne Seoige and Miriam O'Callaghan before making the big move abroad.

How did he get involved with the Kardashian-Jenners?

The hair guru was finishing up a job with a fashion photographer in New York City and he was asked if he could stick around to help out on a test shoot with a young model.

Fitzsimons agreed to do the last-minute gig, not knowing who it was going to be. Next thing, Kendall Jenner walked through the door for “her first test shoot in New York as a model.”

He told In The Know’s Gibson Johns: “We did a whole, I think it was a denim shoot together. She was amazing. She was great. And then she started booking me for all of her New York gigs.

“She was living in L.A. at the time and coming to New York for each season, and I started working with her on all of her carpets that she would do in New York and then the Met Gala.”

The 2015 Met Gala was one of Fitzsimons’ most career-making moments. He explained: “That kind of transformed my career into a different moment, transformed my career into a different avenue, and that’s where I started taking things really, really seriously when it came to the celebrity world.”

From there, Kendall recommended his work to her older sister, Kourtney, during her visits to New York City. Before he knew it, he was working as a celeb hairstylist “with every single member of the family" - he has even appeared on a few episodes of Keeping up with the Kardashians.

After years of helping A-list celebrities, Andrew made his own line of hair care products that empower everyone, no matter who they are, to use their natural texture as a canvas to create their own iconic looks.

LGBT background

These days, Andrew’s mission is to broaden the definition of beauty and give a platform to the unseen. Andrew began a cosmetic donation program with the TransWellness Centre to raise awareness and create a global action network, supplying beauty products to those who are less fortunate.

Andrew previously said: "When I was younger, Dublin was not the place for a young, sensitive, gay boy. I know it’s changed a lot now and Ireland was one of the first countries to pass the gay marriage vote, and I’m very proud of that.”
