Meet Brooklyn Beckham's billionaire in-laws Nelson and Claudia Peltz with epic net worth

Brooklyn Beckham and Nicola Peltz will tie the knot this weekend in what has been dubbed the ‘society wedding of the year’.

The union of a Miami dynasty and meets British celeb royalty is expected to be a star-studded affair with a host of high-profile names in attendance.

While Brooklyn’s parents David and Victoria Beckham have an estimated fortune of £380 million, that’s nothing compared to the money his wife-to-be’s family have.

Bates Motel actress Nicola is the daughter of American businessman Nelson Peltz, who is worth four times what the Beckhams are.

With an estimated wealth of £1.7 billion, it’s no wonder Brooklyn was asked to sign the ' mother and father of all pre-nups’.

So who are the Peltz family and how did they make their fortune? Here’s everything we know about Brooklyn Beckham’s new in-laws.

Nelson Peltz

Nicola’s father Nelson Peltz is an American – and Donald Trump supporting - businessman who will turn 80 in June.

With a personal fortune of £1.7 billion, he is currently ranked by Forbes as the 1,729th richest man in the world.

But it didn’t start out that way. The native New Yorker, who was born to a Jewish family in Brooklyn, has a rags to riches story much like the Beckhams.

After dropping out of college in 1963, he worked his way up his family’s food business, A. Peltz & Sons.

Starting off as a driver, he would deliver fresh produce to New York restaurants. He later steered the company into the frozen food business and bought several other food companies.

Then in 1983 he and his business partner bought a stake in Triangle Industries, turning it into one of the largest packing companies in the world. He later sold his share for a staggering $840 million (£701m).

In 2005 he founded a new company, Trian Fund Management, an investment firm he still owns today. The business has stakes in companies like Heinz, Cadbury and Tiffany & Co, among others.

These days the American investor is a non-executive chairman of US fast food chain Wendy’s, multinational corporation Sysco and sports business The Madison Square Garden Company.

Claudia Heffner Peltz

Nicola’s mother Claudia Heffner Peltz is a former American fashion model who is said to have a net worth of $5 million in her own right.

She shot to further fame in 1985 when she became Nelson’s third wife.

The 67-year-old went on to have eight children with Nelson, three of whom are in the public eye.

As well as daughter Nicola being an actress, son Will, 35, has starred in teen movies such as Time Freak and Sierra Burgess Is A Loser.

While 32-year-old son Brad is a professional ice hockey player for the Ottawa Senators team.

Claudia dropped out of the spotlight after having kids preferring to be a housewife.

She is reportedly a keen philanthropist with an impressive collection of diamond jewellery.

But the only time people see much of her is on her lookalike daughter Nicola’s Instagram feed. Claudia shuns technology and is not on social media herself.

Property empire and private jets

Nelson and Claudia live in a sprawling 27-bedroom mansion called High Winds in the wealthy New York suburb of Bedford.

Their famous neighbours include Martha Stewart and movie stars Bruce Willis, Glenn Close and couple Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds.

In the nineties Nelson used to commute to his downtown New York office every day via helicopter, until he began getting complaints about the noise.

The 130-acre mansion used to belong to Reader’s Digest founder DeWitt Wallace and is said to feature an impressive art collection, indoor ice rink, private lake and flock of albino peacocks.

The Peltz's property portfolio also extends to a lavish £78 million beach house in Miami, which is where Brooklyn and Nicola's nuptials are set to take place this weekend.

The palatial estate, in Palm Beach, is one of the most expensive homes in the area and spans 44,000sq ft.

As well as its dreamy beachside location, it has sprawling gardens and a swimming pool in the grounds.

Nelson reportedly bought the house across the street so he could get permission to build a tennis court. This now acts as a mansion for guests and no doubt where people will be staying at the wedding this weekend.

The Peltz family also own a fleet of helicopters and two private jets so they can easily get around.
