Medical students slammed over ‘disgusting’ Jewish fancy dress for boozy party

Medical students at a Scots university have left colleagues sickened by dressing as Orthodox Jews for a boozy party.

Two idiots chose the offensive costumes for the Aberdeen University Medical Society “big night out” this month. Members of the same society ran amok in a city hotel last year.

A photo of the pair on the group’s Facebook page was taken down when journalists asked questions.

A “disgusted” student at the university said: “When I saw the photo, my jaw dropped.

“God only knows what a Jewish person would make of it.

“I was tempted to call the police. They are just a bunch of out-of-control yobs.”

Medical Society members went on the rampage through the Treetops Hotel in Aberdeen last year, threatening guests, throwing bottles and ruining a couple’s wedding.

Asked about this month’s incident, an Aberdeen University spokeswoman said they were “extremely disappointed” by the behaviour of “a small number of students” at the event.

She said the university’s disciplinary processes were “guided by and in line with” General Medical Council requirements for medical students.

The Medical Society said in a statement: “MedSoc is extremely disappointed to learn that a small number of students at our event may have caused offence or upset.

“We will not support anti-social behaviour and concerns raised will be discussed with the students involved.”

The Equality and Human Rights Commission warned this week that a quarter of ethnic minority students had been racially harassed at university.
