Medic sent in for Carly Stenson as her shoulder "pops out" during skate-off on ITV1's Dancing on Ice

Performing in the skate-off is nerve-wracking enough for celebrities on Dancing on Ice, let alone getting injured in the process. Actress Carly Stenson painfully popped out her shoulder during her skate-off routine, just before she was eliminated from the competition.

After receiving one of the two lowest overall scores, a combination of the result of the public vote and her score from the judges, Carly and her professional ice skating partner Mark Hanretty faced The Wanted band member Siva Kaneswaran and his professional partner Klabera Komini in the skate-off. While performing to Stop This Flame, Carly 'popped out' her shoulder and came off the ice breathing heavily and looking like she was in pain.

At end of the performance, host Holly Willoughby asked Carly if she was ok and Carly said the dance felt "painful". Mark explained Carly's shoulder had popped out and Carly said: "It is alright, it is back in. It didn't come out out, it just popped out."

Holly then said they would be sending for a medic to take a look at Carly. Ultimately Carly was eliminated from the competition when the judges Jayne Torvill, Christopher Dean, Oti Mabuse and Ashely Banjo unanimously decided to save Siva.

A very emotional Carly said her goodbyes to the show. She said: "I am going to miss this man...thank you, I have really enjoyed it, this is all a blur right now but I have really enjoyed it."

Carly was not the only one on Dancing on Ice with an injury as judge Jayne appeared with her arm in a sling. Chatting to host Phillip Schofield, Jayne explained she had injured her arm and needs to have surgery. She said: "Talking of things going wrong on the ice, I've injured my bicep tendon so I need to get surgery...I am going to have to have surgery," while Christopher joked: "I am studying up for it!"
