A mechanic has warned of the most important vehicle dash lights to take notice of.
He took to TikTok to offer advice which could save countless motorists thousands of pounds in damages. Sharing his guide for viewers, the video was captioned "What your car warning lights mean in 30 secs."
Displaying a car's oil light in the clip, he said: "Either means you're running low on oil, or you possibly have an oil leak." He then showed the orange windscreen fluid light.

He added: "You're running low on washer fluid, so fill it up. The last one is the 'oh s***' light, or the check engine light.
"It could be as simple as a loose gas cap, or you could need a whole new engine. The check engine light could mean one of many different things and needs attention."
Steve Mazor, retired chief automotive engineer for the Auto Club of Southern California, issued a similar warning previously. He said: "[Drivers] just put a piece of black tape over the dashboard light and keep driving."
