Molly McCann has her first fight of 2025 booked, as ‘Meatball’ returns on bumper UFC London card in March. The Liverpudlian MMA fighter is set to take on Istela Nunes in a womne’s strawweight bout at UFC London next year.
Molly McCann Set For UFC Return In Early 2025
UFC London is shaping up to be quite the card, with Molly McCann now booked to fight on March 22 at the O2 Arena, London.
‘Meatball Molly’ is set for her return to the octagon early next year, as it has been confirmed by the UFC that she will face Istela Nunes in a women’s strawweight bout at UFC London next March.
The 34-year-old currently boasts an MMA record of 14-7, and is looking to get back to winning ways in her first fight of the year against the Brazilian.
The Liverpudlian has lost three of her last four UFC bouts, but aims to get back to winning ways in her third strawweight contest since moving down from flyweight earlier this year.
Nunes herself has lost all four of her UFC fights so far, meaning ‘Meatball Molly’ will likely go into the UFC London bout as the favourite with the best UFC betting sites in the UK.
UFC London sees Leon Edwards headline, with a few other popular fighters also on the card at the O2 Arena. ‘Rocky’ will be looking to get back to winning ways in the main event, following his loss to Belal Muhammad at UFC 304 in July.
Other bouts added to the UFC’s UK return include Christian Leroy Duncan vs Andrey Pulyaev at middleweight, Alonzo Menifield vs Oumar Sy at 205-pounds and Shauna Bannon vs Puja Tomar in a women’s strawweight match-up.
Former UFC Light-Heavyweight Champion Jan Blachowicz is also in action against New Zealand’s Ulberg. There will likely be more fights added to this stellar UFC London card in due course.
‘Meatball’ Molly Aiming For UFC Title Shot By End Of 2026
With ‘Meatball Molly’ officially returning at UFC London in March, she will be hoping to get back to winning ways in emphatic style. If she doesn’t, she can wave goodbye to any hopes of a UFC Women’s Strawweight Title shot anytime soon.
The current champion at 115-pounds is Zhang Weili, and she doesn’t look like she is willing to give up her belt anytime soon. Molly McCann is currently unranked at strawweight, but win this and add another two wins against Top 15 opponents in 2025 and she could be on for a UFC Title shot come 2026.
This is somewhat last-chance saloon for the scouser, who will be cheered on by the British crowd along with good friend and UFC lightweight contender Paddy Pimblett, who is also expected to be announced on the UFC London card imminently.
UFC President Dana White will be hoping for a standout performance from ‘Meatball’ Molly McCann, before giving her fights to climb up the rankings at 115-pounds. UFC London on March 22 is simply a must-win fight for her.
