Meat Loaf: How much was the late singer worth, what was his real name and who was he married to?

Singer Meat Loaf passed away on Thursday, January 20 at the age of 74.

The music artist is known for his Bat Out of Hell album and songs like Paradise By The Dashboard Light and I'd Do Anything for Love (But I Won't Do That).

Meat Loaf starred in many famous films, including Fight Club, Rocky Horror Picture Show and Wayne's World.

In a statement released to his official Facebook page it said that Meat Loaf had his family were with him when died, including his wife Deborah Gillespie and daughters Pearl and Amanda.

Who was Meat Loaf married to?

Deborah is the second wife of Meat Loaf and they have been married since 2007 after he split from Leslie Aday. They were often pictured together at events like The Showgirl Must Go On opening night.

She is Canadian and they lived between their two homes in LA and Texas, where Meat Loaf was from. The couple had no children together and she is a stepmother to Meat Loaf's children Pearl and Amanda Aday.

Deborah was also the management consultant for Meat Loaf's 2004 event, Meat Loaf: Live with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra.

How much was Meat Loaf worth?

Meat Loaf sold millions of albums worldwide and is estimated to be worth a huge £29 million after he had to file for bankruptcy in 1983.

What was Meat Loaf's real name?

Meat Loaf was born Marvin Lee Aday and legally changed his name to Michael Lee Aday in 1984 after he was bullied at school for not fitting into blue jeans.

He most commonly went by the stage name Meat Loaf.

The singer was born with a very red colouring so his dad told the hospital staff that because he "looks like nine and a half pounds of ground chuck" to put a name tag on the crib saying Meat.

Whilst in high school Meat Loaf stepped on his football coach's foot and the man said: "Get off my foot, you hunk of meat loaf!" and from there the name stuck.
