Meat Loaf's cause of death has been revealed following the announcement of his death on Friday morning.
It's been reported that the music icon, 74, died after becoming "seriously ill" with Covid-19.
It is not known whether the singer was vaccinated, but it has been suggested that he had "outspoken" views regarding the ongoing pandemic.
Sources have claimed to TMZ the Bat Out of Hell singer passed away on Thursday night after contracting the viral disease.
The American outlet has reported that the late singer had been due to attend a dinner earlier this week regarding a show he was working on, but cancelled when he became "seriously ill" with Covid-19.
Sources added that Meat Loaf's battle "quickly became critical", before the singer passed away surrounded by his family on Thursday night.
They also suggested to TMZ that the late star was outspoken regarding issues linked to the pandemic - claiming the late star had been "railing with folks in Australia recently about vaccine mandates".
Meat Loaf's wife released a statement via Facebook on Friday morning confirming his death to heartbroken fans.

"Daughters Pearl and Amanda and close friends have been with him throughout the last 24 hours.
"His amazing career spanned 6 decades that saw him sell over 100 Million albums worldwide and star in over 65 movies, including “Fight Club”, “Focus”, “Rocky Horror Picture Show” and “Wayne’s World.”
“Bat Out of Hell” remains one of the top 10 selling albums of all time.
"We thank you for your understanding of our need for privacy at this time. From his heart to your souls…don’t ever stop rocking!"
"We know how much he meant to so many of you and we truly appreciate all of the love and support as we move through this time of grief in losing such an inspiring artist and beautiful man.
The grieving family have yet to comment on the claims his death was Covid-19 related.
Meat Loaf is survived by his two children and his devastated wife Deborah Gillespie.
The Rocky Horror Picture Show star became a parent for the first time when he married his first wife Leslie G. Edmonds, who at the time was already a mother to a young child, Pearl Aday.
The late singer and Leslie then went on to welcome their first biological child together into the world, daughter Amanda Aday, before divorcing in 2001.
Pearl, 45, has followed in her stepfather's footsteps and works in the music industry - even acting as a back-up singer for the Mötley Crüe at one point in her career.
Piers Morgan and Stephen Fry are just two famous faces who have paid tribute to the late star following the confirmation of his death.
TV presenter Ben Shepherd also recalled his experiences with the 'larger than life' singer as he reported the news of his death on Friday morning.
"I was lucky enough to interview him a number of years ago and Meat Loaf came in and he was so much larger than life. In the end, we had to throw him out of the studio, he didn't want to go, he spent the whole time in the studio with us. It was an extraordinary performance," the broadcaster shared live on Good Morning Britain.
"He virtually took over, I remember that very well," co-host Kate Garraway added.
"Huge, he's huge in every way, his size, his scale, his noise," Ben continued.
"There was never any compromise and trust me, if you ever met him, there was no disappointment."
