Mcdonalds Winning Sips: How to play, what the prizes are and how to claim them

McDonald’s is running a new promotional game that could see some lucky people bagging great prizes – including £10,000 cash. The fast-food chain is known for its campaigns that give customers the chance to win some huge prizes, like its annual favourite Monopoly game.

Now Maccies has launched a brand-new game that could see some lucky winners walking away with prizes ranging from cash to free food, or even some socks. The new Winning Sips promotional campaign is live now at McDonald’s restaurants in the UK, Isle of Man and Channel Islands.

It is set to run until midnight on April 25, and it’s easy to play. Here, we break down everything you need to know about McDonald’s Winning Sips:

What are the Winning Sips prizes?

There are two types of Winning Sips game piece, and the prizes differ depending on which type you get. Some stickers will offer an instant win, with cash prizes up to £100 and free items from the menu.

Other stickers will contain a code which can be entered on the McDonald’s app for a chance to win even bigger sums of cash. There are two categories of prizes for the app game: tier one and tier two.

Tier one offers bigger cash prizes, but they can only be won at a specific time. To be in with a chance of winning, players must enter their codes during a “winning moment.”

These moments only occur once a minute and last for just 0.3 seconds. The first player to enter their code during that moment could win one of the following cash prizes:

  • £200
  • £100
  • £50
  • £20
  • £10
  • £5

But if you miss out, there’s still plenty of other prizes up for grabs with tier two. Players can win other prizes including cash prizes of £5 or £10, free food items, or some Maccies merchandise like socks or a bucket hat.

They will also automatically be entered into a prize draw for the chance to receive one of ten cash prizes of £10,000.

How to claim Winning Sips prizes

Customers lucky enough to bag an instant win must submit the security barcode on the sticker by following the web address printed on the game piece no later than May 9. They will also need to provide some personal details and a bank account for the cash prize to be paid into.

Winners of the tier one and tier two cash or merchandise prizes will receive an instant notification on the McDonald’s app of the type of prize awarded and a corresponding online claim form that must be completed no later than May 9.

If you are one of the lucky winners of the £10,000 prize draw, McDonald’s will send an email to the address connected to the app within 30 days of the date of the draw. Winner will then have seven days from the date of the email to claim their winnings.

Winners of a food prize will receive notification of the prize awarded in the Winning Sips Wallet in the McDonald’s app, where the prize will be added to the ‘Offers’ or ‘Rewards & Offers’ section. The winner must simply present the voucher either when ordering at a McDonald’s restaurant or by applying it to an order placed via the app.
