Update, September 7 12:55 PM BST: It’s been confirmed that it’s not just Brazil that’s getting it this week, as Press Start has received word that it will be available between September 9 and October 20 in Australia.
The Pokémon: Trading Card Game McDonald's promotion to celebrate Pokémon's 25th anniversary is making a comeback this week. If you're in Brazil, that is.
It has been confirmed by numerous sources, including PokeGuardian, that Brazilian McDonald's locations will be offering the cards in its Happy Meals from September 9. The packs contain four cards each, with each depicting one of the eight generations' starter Pokémon (including Pikachu). There are also cases, a Pikachu frame and stickers also available.
While this isn't the first time the Pokémon TCG promotion has been available in South America, with Suriname running it way back in March, this is by far the most widespread launch of the cards on the continent. As with every other country it has launched in, prepare for stock to run out very quickly.
When the promotion was run in North America earlier this year, the demand for the cards was high that stocks of it ran out almost immediately. It was so severe that some collectors ordered huge numbers of Happy Meals purely for the cards, to the extent that McDonald's stores had to put maximum purchase limits in place, while the head office requested potential customers "think twice before placing excessive Happy Meal orders during this promotion".
