When visiting McDonald's, there's nothing more disappointing than being served cold, stale fries alongside your burger or chicken nuggets. To prevent this from happening, an ex-employee has taken to TikTok to share how customers can get their hands on fresh fries.
Customers commonly ask their server for "no salt" on their fries in an attempt to be served a new batch - with some adding their own salt on after receiving their order. However, the crew member, known as @jodessy on TikTok, claims this is completely unnecessary and slows down the entire operation for yourself and other customers. Instead, she offers an alternative hack to get the perfect fries.
She said: "Asking for fries no salt is just annoying. Just say you want the fries dropped fresh - nine times out of 10 the fries are already dropped fresh."
The former employee also provided an explanation for why McDonald's milkshake and ice cream machine always seems to be 'broken', claiming her team mates would say this when they couldn't be bothered to refill it.
"The ice cream machine is rarely broken, at least at my location. We just didn't want to change those heavy bags of shake mix," she said.
Sharing even more McDonald's "secrets', she added: "We're actually not allowed to take tips just in case you wanted to tip us - but I still took them though."
Responding to her video, one user said: "I worked at McDonald's and these are all accurate."
Another user added: "I say no salt on the fries everywhere - not only because I want them fresh though but because people really do be putting too much salt."
A third user said: "The ice cream bags aren't that heavy. I just think employees are just lazy and don't want to make any ice cream."
One more user added: "I worked at McDonald's for three years and the reason the ice cream machine is always broken for me was because it goes through a cleaning cycle."
