McDonald's worker shares how Big Macs are made - including 'challenge' with buns

It's been an exciting week for McDonald's fans as the company launched their new twist on the iconic Big Mac burger.

Yes, the Chicken Big Mac became available to purchase across the UK on February 2 and the reviews are in.

The Mirror's taste test concluded that the burger was 'messy' but definitely worth a try - and as such people can't stop talking about Big Macs.

Because of this, a McDonald's employee from the US decided to share a look at how the classic beef version is made and posted a step-by-step video of the process on TikTok.

The video went viral and has caused a stir with fans of the fast-food chain.

Posting under the username @essentialmcdonalds, the employee begins the footage by explaining how the three buns have different names and all get toasted.

The top of the bun is known as the 'crown', the bottom is the 'heel' and the middle part is known as the 'club'.

They are toasted on both sides then put into the burger box, with crown on top, heel on bottom and club on top of crown.

Next one shot of Big Mac sauce is added on each side.

The man goes on to sprinkle "dehydrated onions" on top of the Big Mac sauce, before adding lettuce on each and two pickles on top and one piece of cheese on the bottom.

A burger patty is added to both sides, then comes the "most challenging part".

He explains: "You have to lift the club up and put it on top of the heel, so you've basically assembled a sandwich.

"Then you close it and you're done."

The clip has been viewed 10 million times on social media, with over two million people liking it.

Thousands also took the time to comment, with one person saying: "IDK why but I'm obsessed with learning this lol."

Another wrote: "Mine never looks like that. Normally it's thrown in the box and I have to recover it."

Others were shocked to learn that the Big Mac only came with one slice of cheese and some really wanted extra pickles.
