McDonald's will be closing between certain hours for the Queen's funeral. The fast-food chain has announced it will shut restaurant doors on Monday, September 19 in honour of Britain's longest-reigning monarch, who passed away aged 96 on Thursday, September 8.
Following the Queen's death, the UK has entered a period of National Mourning. It is expected to last until the day after Her Majesty's state funeral.
Ahead of the funeral, which has been announced as a public bank holiday, many supermarkets and stores have confirmed closures to mourn the loss of the Queen. You can see a list of those here.

And now McDonald's has confirmed it will be closing its doors between certain hours. The restaurant has said it was to enable its employees to pay their respects.
In a statement shared on social media, McDonald's wrote: "In honour of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth 2 and to enable everyone at McDonald's to pay their respects, our restaurants across the UK will be cosed from midnight until 5pm on Monday 19th September."
A caption then added: "All of our UK restaurants will be closed on Monday until 5pm, to allow everyone at McDonald’s to pay their respects to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
