However, McDonald's refuses to stand by idly while its sales fall. Instead, the fast-food giant quickly contacted another leading food chain in its own sector.

With two very successful food businesses, it is no surprise that the leading American doughnut shop and the number one fast-food chain in America would ultimately join forces to become an iconic and indestructible duo.
In October 2022, McDonald's first tested a partnership with Krispy Kreme by announcing it would begin selling Krispy Kreme donuts for a limited time in nine restaurants located in Louisville and surrounding areas.
This partnership has been in the works for multiple years, and after a few teases, it's finally ready to go.

Participating McDonald's restaurants in Chicago will now offer three of Krispy Kreme's most popular doughnuts, including their original glazed, chocolate iced with sprinkles, and chocolate iced Kreme filled.
Krispy Kreme doughnuts are projected to be served in over 1,000 McDonald's restaurants by the end of the year and 12,000 by the end of 2026.
To enhance the partnership and attract more customers to its locations, Krispy Kreme also decided to give McDonald's customers a preview of what's to come by gifting free doughnuts to anyone who shows a McDonald's digital or printed receipt between Oct. 10 and 14. So Monday is the last day to take advantage.
This strategic partnership may be the boost McDonald's needs to reverse declining sales and get back on a positive track.
