Vegans who enjoy a fast food treat won't have to wait long for a new product, as McDonald's announce a new burger on its expansive menu.
The Daily Record reports that the Double McPlant is set to rollout in the UK and Ireland on January 4, 2023. Those who are participating in Veganuary next month will have another tasty treat to try.
The item is like the original McPlant, only it offers double the amount of Beyond Meat patties. It also includes vegan sauce, fresh onion, pickles, lettuce, tomato, and vegan cheese which the chain promises tastes 'just like McDonald's iconic cheese slices'.

The fast food icons have reported that the Double McPlant is 'vegan certified', meaning it is cooked separately from the other burgers and sandwiches with different utensils.
Fans of McDonald's have been calling for a double version of the vegan burger on social media after it made its debut back in September 2021.
One fan wrote on Twitter: "Double McPlant is a game changer. I've really enjoyed it the couple of times I've had it, but it's just not big enough."
Another said: "I need a double McPlant."
And a third wrote: "I can't believe that the McDonald's beyond meat #mcplant the meat tastes more meaty than any McDonald's actual meat burgers."
The Double McPlant will join the family of other super-sized burgers at McDonalds, including the Double Big Mac, Chicken Big Mac, Double Quarter Pounder, Double and Triple Cheeseburger.
The brand new vegan burger will be available UK-wide from January 4, 2023, for £4.89 individually, or £6.49 as a meal.
