McDonald's surprises fans by bringing back popular Mighty McMuffin

Fans of a popular breakfast sandwich from McDonald's will be pleased to know that after some time off the menu, it will be returning this week.

The Mighty McMuffin will be available to buy from tomorrow - Wednesday, March 29 - which will no doubt be welcome news to anyone who's missed them.

It first appeared on menus at the fast food chain just before Christmas last year but was only available for a limited time before it disappeared again.

However, because it was so popular, McDonald's decided to bring it back - but again, only for a certain amount of time.

The Mirror reports that it will only be available for three months before disappearing off the McDonald's menu again – so you'll need to be quick.

The Mighty McMuffin, which consists of sausage, egg, bacon, cheese and ketchup or brown sauce, will be joining the menu from Wednesday, March 29.

Fans of the fast food giant will no doubt be happy about the news, with one person in January tweeting: "We want the Mighty McMuffin back!!!!!" and another adding: "The mighty McMuffin is amazing."

The McMuffin isn't the only thing to join the menu, as the burger chain is also bringing back the record-selling Chicken Big Mac – and it's expected to be in huge demand.

It's a twist on the classic Big Mac, which features a triple layered bun, cheese, lettuce, pickles and the world-famous sauce – but instead of beef patties, it has two 100% chicken breast patties in a crispy coating.

Fans can also pick up the new Steakhouse Stack, which is a premium new beef burger, developed to evoke flavours of peppercorn sauce. It has two 100% beef patties, a slice of cheddar cheese, crispy onions, red onions, lettuce and peppercorn sauce.

If that wasn't enough, fan favourite Mozzarella Dippers will also be returning.

For those with a sweet tooth, there will be two new McFlurries just in time for Easter – the Cadbury Creme Egg and Cadbury Caramel Egg McFlurry.

Unfortunately, to make way for the new additions, five fan-favourites will be disappearing from the menu – including the chilli cheese bites.
