McDonald's opening times for King Charles III Coronation: See when restaurants will open

The Coronation of King Charles III will take place this weekend, with celebrations planned across the long bank holiday weekend.

If you’re wanting to mark the occasion with your favourite fast food chain, you might be wondering if McDonald’s will remain open.

The actual Coronation will take place on Saturday (May 6) and then there is a bank holiday on Monday (May 8).

McDonald’s has more than 1,270 restaurants in the UK.

Approximately 1,100 of these are franchised, which means they are able to choose their own hours.

This also means opening times vary across the country and there are no standard opening hours.

Here is our rough guide on what you can expect.

To be absolutely sure of the opening times of your local store, use the McDonald's restaurant finder tool online.

McDonald's May bank holiday weekend opening times

To give you a rough idea of opening times, The Mirror has checked several locations across the UK.

Most locations will be open over the whole bank holiday weekend.

For example, the McDonald’s in Birmingham, Temple Road, will remain open for 24 hours each day this weekend.

However, you may find a handful will stay shut on Monday, or they may have shorter opening hours.

McDonald's latest menu change

McDonald's is currently serving the Chicken Big Mac once again following huge demand last year, when it sold out in under ten days.

If you didn't get to try it last time, the Chicken Big Mac is a triple-layered bun with the two chicken breast patties in a crispy coating, a slice of cheese, lettuce, pickles, and Big Mac sauce.

A single burger costs £4.49 for a single burger, or £6.09 for a medium meal, although prices do vary.

There is also the new Steakhouse Stack, made up of two beef patties, a slice of cheddar cheese, crispy onions, red onions, and lettuce topped with a creamy peppercorn sauce.

This is priced at £5.39 for a single burger, or £6.99 for a medium meal.

Other new menu additions include the return of the Creme Egg McFlurry (£1.99 for a standard size, or £1.49 for a mini) and mozzarella dippers (£2.19 for a regular box, or £6.19 for a sharebox).

These will all be available until May 9.
