McDonald's has made some big changes to its menu, with several popular items gone to make way for tasty new additions this month.
The fast food giant has shaken things up for the new year by adding a new burger and wrap to the menu in all restaurants across the UK and Ireland, as well as bringing back some popular bites and McFlurry flavours. But diners will have to say goodbye to some of their favourites that will disappear this week from the breakfast, main and dessert menus.
Here are the changes coming to the the McDonald's menu as of Wednesday, January 4, as reported by the Manchester Evening News.

What's out?
A few popular items have had the axe from the McDonald's menu for the new year, including the fan-favourite Big Tasty and Big Tasty with Bacon burgers. Cheese Melt Dippers are also gone as of this week, as are the breakfast Potato Waffles that proved a huge hit with customers.
Festive additions to the list including the Celebrations McFlurry, Festive Pie, Hot Chocolate Deluxe and Caramel Waffle Latte are also no more. Some diners have been left gutted by the changes, with calls spreading on social media to bring back the axed items on a permanent basis.
What's in?
Fear not, McDonald's fans - several new additions are on the menu to replace the axed items, including the return of a few old favourites. Cheesy Garlic Bites are back, filled with mozzarella and Emmental cheese in a garlic herb coating served with a rich tomato dip, and will be available until February 14.
Over on the desserts side, the classic McFlurry now comes in Aero Chocolate and Aero Peppermint once again as it replaces the Celebrations edition of the ice cream. And there are also some brand new main menu items for diners to look forward to.
McDonald's has added a new burger option that has been hailed as a "game-changer" in the form of the Double McPlant, featuring two Beyond Meat patties, a vegan sesame bun, mustard, ketchup, the ultimate vegan sandwich sauce, fresh onion, pickles, lettuce, tomato and vegan cheese. And that's not all - a new wrap, the Spicy Sriracha Chicken One, will also be served in all restaurants across the UK and Ireland as the wrap of the day on Wednesdays for a limited time only until Valentine's Day.
Gráinne Allen, Director of Food and Innovation, McDonald’s UK and Ireland said: "We’re so pleased to be launching a new Big Flavour Wrap in the UK and Ireland. The Spicy Sriracha Chicken One brings something different to the wrap family and we hope customers are as excited by it as we are.
"As with every McDonald’s offering, we take our time to ensure it meets the highest standards and is something that all our customers will enjoy. We are always looking for different ways to innovate and meet consumers needs and knowing how well-loved the Big Flavour Wraps – it made sense to add to this family, with a spicy chicken edition."
