The McDonald’s UK Breakfast Bus is to embark on a tour across the nation serving free McMuffins at selected locations between 11am-4pm. At the same time, McDonald’s with LitterLotto will encourage students to keep their new hometowns clean and take part in local litter picks.
Universities will be added to a league table for the chance to be crowned the ‘Cleanest Student City or Town’. One student from theCleanest Student City or Town will win a DJ set from Chris Stark, on board the McDonald’s food van.
A bespoke McDonald’s airstream will be stopping at 10 universities freshers’ fairs across the UK, handing out free McMuffins (either egg and cheese, or bacon, egg and cheese), plus Coke Zero samples to students. You will need to be quick, as there are only 2,000 serves up for grabs. The first 100 students who attend the van, at each University, will also receive free McDonald’s merch.

- 10th October – Edinburgh Napier University
- 11th October – University of Northumbria
- 12th October – Sheffield University
- 13th October – University of Leeds
- 14th October – York University
Week 2:
- 17th October – Nottingham Trent University
- 18th October – Birmingham City University
- 19th October – Cardiff Met University
- 20th October – Bristol UWE University
- 21st October – Portsmouth University
At the same time, students and local residents can enter the competition to see their town crowned as the cleanest by uploading a photo of themselves responsibly disposing of any litter they find in order to earn a point towards the town/city's total points. At the end of the two-week tour, the town or city with the most points will be crowned as the winner and will be entered into a prize draw.

Upload a photo of yourself binning a piece of litter on campus at the activation between 10am -10pm on the day of the breakfast van visit to your town/city. Entries uploaded outside of those hours will not be entered into the Cleanest student city or town competition.
The cleanest student city or town will be announced w/c 24th October and all entrants from the winning location will be entered into a prize draw.
By entering the Litter Lotto and McDonald's competition, you will also be automatically entered into LitterLotto UK's national draw for the opportunity to win a spot prize.
