McDonald's is axing six popular items from its menu next week

McDonald's has announced a major menu shake-up as it pulls six products next week.

Following the return of the first permanent chicken burger in 15 years, McDonald's is adding four further products to its menu. However, to make way for the new arrivals, six items are being axed.

The fast food restaurant will introduce Potato Waffles, Twirl McFlurry and the BBQ Bacon Stack on Wednesday, October 19. Nacho Cheese Wedges will also be joining the menu from October 26.

But these new items will be replacing Chicken Legend, Big Tasty, Spicy McNuggets, Mozzarella Dippers, Twix and Mars McFlurry. The new Mini Potato Waffles will be added to the breakfast menu and cost £1.39 for a portion of three. To replace the Big Tasty, McDonald’s is bringing back the BBQ Bacon Stack, costing £5.39. It will be on the menu for six weeks.

The burger is made with two 100% British and Irish beef patties, two slices of pepper jack cheese and Beechwood Smoked Bacon topped off with a slice of tomato, lettuce, slivered onions plus McDonald’s signature BBQ sauce - all sandwiched between a sesame seed crusted Artisan Bun.

On October 26, the Nacho Cheese Wedges, which are £2.29 for a portion of five or £5.99 for a sharebox, will arrive on the menu. They are filled with melted nacho cheese and spicy Jalapeno slices, covered in a crunchy.

And a new flavour McFlurry is coming to the menu. The Twirl McFlurry is made with dairy ice cream, swirled together with pieces of Cadbury’s Twirl with Milk Chocolate sauce. It is available in Regular (£1.69) and Mini (£1.19) sizes.
