Fast food giant McDonald's has enraged shoppers with a message about the Queen's funeral which some have branded 'disrespecful' and 'disgusting'.
The burger chain took to social media yesterday to let people know what it plans to do on Monday 19th September, as Elizabeth is laid to rest. But some people have been left furious by the decision.
Writing on Facebook, McDonald's let fans know that it has made the decision to shut all UK stores until 5pm on Monday so people can pay their respects. But the decision has left a sour taste in some peoples' mouths, and fans are now divided.

McDonald's wrote: "All of our UK restaurants will be closed on Monday until 5pm, to allow everyone at McDonald’s to pay their respects to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. Operating hours and services may vary after 5pm, so please check our app before travelling.."
McDonald's has confirmed that all stores will remain closed, and people won't even be able to order deliveries until then. While some say it's 'disrespectful' not to close for the full day, others are annoyed it's closing at all.
Other McDonald's fans found themselves annoyed the store hasn't committed to closing for the entirety of the day. Joe Andrews-worth slammed: "Shut for the whole day. We don’t need this to be open and opening later is absolutely pointless." Dan Preston fumed: "If a company wants to ‘show its respect’ then surely they should close for the whole day ? Instead McDonald’s decide to try and look good yet still catch the busiest time of the day by opening just before."
Cassie Smith said: "Only until 5pm. Disrespectful to your staff. Should be closed the whole day." John Cotter said: "If you really want to show respect you should have shut for the whole day.
Jason Shepherd slammed: "Can't even stay shut for one sodding day how disgusting Dean Macgregor said: "Yes, because people are unable to pay their respects if McDonald's are open.."
Some were, however, happy with the decision: Kirk Matthews said: "Respect, everywhere should be closed unless you're a key-worker."
Helen Castree commented: "Honestly those people complaining about not being able to get a Big Mac or milkshake for half a day should possibly consider emergency services and carers and NHS who in many cases 1 won’t get the day off 2 probably won’t get a lunch break. But most importantly 3 have and will work on and on to keep you and your nearest and dearest safe!"
Chris Finch praised: "Well done. We have lost our head of state. Let's hope more companies follow suite." Joshua Watson said: "OMFG McDonalds Is closed until 5pm Come on people it’s not the end of the world show some respect."
McDonald's has been contacted for comment.
