McDonald's has royal makeover for Queen's Jubilee - with new dining set and slogan change

McDonald's is now fit for a Queen as they've had a royal makeover in the run-up to the Jubilee.

The fast-food chain has temporarily changed its famous tagline from "I'm lovin' it" to "one's lovin' it" and has even updated the iconic jingle for the first time ever, recording a new version with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.

As well as this, the company are launching a limited-edition china dining set, shaped like McDonald's packaging, so customers can 'dine like a Queen'.

This will include a Big Mac, fries and milkshake packaging reimagined as an elegant china set, with Platinum Jubilee detailing to mark the occasion.

There are 70 sets of these up for grabs via an exclusive competition on the McDonald’s App from Tuesday, May 31.

McDonald’s ‘Five Note Sting’, the jingle played at the end of its advertising and familiar to millions simply as “ba da ba ba ba”.

A 35-strong ensemble featuring brass, strings, percussion, and woodwind recorded the regal version of the sound, sure to gain a royal seal of approval.

The new McDonald's jingle will replace the original in the brand’s TV and radio ads over the Jubilee weekend, along with the “one’s lovin’ it” tagline.

And if all this weren't enough, a McDonald's burger will also be getting the royal treatment over the Bank Holiday.

The final part of the Jubilee celebrations will see McDonald’s change the name of an iconic burger for the duration of the weekend.

On Thursday 2nd and Friday 3rd June, the famous Quarter Pounder® with Cheese will become the ‘Royale with Cheese’, paying homage to the infamous scene from Pulp Fiction (“they got the metric system there”) and giving the burger a royal makeover.

The ‘Royale with Cheese’ will be available for just 99p on the McDonald’s App, giving customers a huge £2.60 saving to kick off a weekend of celebrations.

For the remainder of the bank holiday weekend (Saturday 4th and Sunday 5th June), McDonald’s will be running an offer where if you spend £15, you'll save £5 on all McDonald’s orders via the McDonald's App.
