To mark the Coronation of King Charles III, McDonald’s has commissioned a new, extended jingle. McDonald’s has enlisted the services of the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra to record the new version.
The twenty-second jingle features an array of brass instruments including trumpets and tubas and will be unveiled at a live performance by the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra in a secret McDonald’s location with ‘regal ties’ ahead of the Bank Holiday weekend.
The update to the McDonald’s ‘Five Note Sting’, the jingle played at the end of its advertising and familiar to millions simply as “ba da ba ba ba”, follows on from the jingle created ahead of Her Majesty the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee in 2022. The 2023 version will also be running on TV and radio ads over the holiday weekend.
And from Saturday, May 6, McDonald’s fans could be in with a chance to win one of a limited run of 50 solid 9-carat, yellow gold signet rings -engraved with the McDonald’s golden arches logo and topped with a crown.
The competition will be hosted on McDonald’s UK Facebook page and will go live on Friday, April 28 and close on Monday, May 1.
Also, on Bank Holiday Monday, a Single McMuffin is available for £1.19,and a McPlant is on offer for £1.39.
