McDonald's, Greggs and Subway 'takeaway testers' needed - and it pays £1,000

The thought of getting a takeaway and sitting down to relax whilst watching your favourite show is exciting.

But what's more exciting is when you can be paid to do just that, with one company now looking for a takeaway tester.

And bonus points, you can get paid £1,000 whilst enjoying your food with the job role allowing 'flexible and remote working'.

MaterialsMarket.com, which connects professional and amateur builders with materials suppliers, is looking to hire a team to discover the best fast food options for tradespeople.

The part-time job is part of a one month long project which will allow the selected testers to venture to their local fast food chain - which could be early morning or at lunchtime - around the same time you’ll see tradespeople getting their fuel for the day.

There you'll be able to taste test 20 of the most popular fast food meals such as Greggs Sausage Roll, the Big Mac meal as well as a footlong Subway Meatball - just to name a few.

The online market place has said that although fast food has "negative connotations", for tradespeople those meals are convenient fuel for them!

In total six people are being recruited in a bid to create an "onsite content guides" for customers.

But you won't just be tasting the food of course because in addition to this, the hired testers must report back on how they feel after eating each meal, monitoring how long they stay full, their productivity and energy levels and if the meals cause any negative effects such as ‘food comas’, ‘slumps’ or sugar crashes.

The findings provided by the six candidates will be analysed by a professional nutritionist to inform content for the marketplace’s community of tradespeople.

As well as the £1,000 payment for the month-long role, the ‘Takeaway Testers’ will have expenses paid for each meal they consume as part of the experiment, which will see them trial a different meal a day for either lunch or breakfast.

What questions are included in the application?

Candidates are asked to:

  • Share their social media handles
  • Share where they are based
  • Tell the company why they think they would be a great Takeaway Tester.

Samuel Hunt co-founder of MaterialsMarket.com, said: “In trade jobs you're physically put to work and as a result, burn lots of calories, so a substantial meal is a necessity to keep you full, satisfied and energised throughout the working day. “We’re really excited to launch this experiment.

"As we will work with a nutritionist on the findings, we’re looking forward to sharing the best ‘fast food’ meals to eat when on the job with our community. If you wouldn’t mind getting paid to test some of the UK’s favourite fast food, please apply now.”

No previous qualifications or experience are required for the role however they ask that all applicants are over the age of 18.

The closing date for applications is Friday, May 27, 2022, and the successful candidates will be selected soon after.
