McDonald's customers will be happy to know that from today the fast food giant is offering double rewards points through their app.
For a second week in a row, fans of the fast food chain who regularly buy their breakfast items in the morning can be rewarded the extra points on all orders made before 11am. The deal only applies to food purchased through the McDonald's app from Monday, March 6 to Sunday, March 12.
The fast food company said: "Each breakfast option offers double points for customers." Such menu items include the Double Bacon & Egg McMuffin, pancakes drenched in golden syrup and a selection of Breakfast rolls.
Those who want to avail of the offer will have to download the McDonald's app through the Google Play store for Android, or the Apple store for iPhone users. Customers can then opt into MyMcDonald's Rewards and those who reach 1,500 points can choose between menu items with sides including small fries, a hash brown, or a side salad.
The Mirror reports that 2,500 points will elevate options as customers can also choose from a Double Cheeseburger or Vegetable Deluxe. Finally, 4,000 will offer up menu staples like six Chicken McNuggets or a Big Mac.
Customers who feel generous can also donate the cash equivalent of their points to BBC Children in Need, FareShare and Ronald McDonald House Charities. McDonald's said it offers the option as it wants to help fund and support youth work while reducing food poverty and waste in the UK.
McDonald's breakfast is available from 5am to 11am daily. The offer cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer, the restaurant has said.
Last month, McDonald's announced it was trialling a new budget range of Savers Meals at some of its stores. The range includes three different burgers which come with both a side and a drink and have an overall cost of under a fiver.
The trial includes the Single Cheeseburger, Mayo Chicken or Double Cheeseburger. The Cheeseburger and Mayo Chicken Saver Meals are priced at £3.99, with the Double Cheeseburger at £4.79.
The deal is being trialled at around 120 restaurants across the southeast of the UK from February 15 to May 9. If proven to be successful, the fast food giant will likely roll out the new Saver Meals menu at all of its stores in the country.
It comes after the fast food company announced an increase in prices for five of its popular menu items - including Mayo Chicken, Bacon Mayo Chicken, Bacon Double Cheeseburger, and Triple Cheeseburger - due to the cost of living crisis.
In a statement, a McDonald's spokesperson told the Mirror: "We are committed to offering great tasting food at affordable prices. However, like many businesses, the impact of the increase in food and energy costs continues to affect our company and our franchisees.
"We carefully review and adjust pricing to offer great value and quality. At the same time, we continue to work hard on how we can provide our customer's value where it matters most, with personalised offers and rewards through the MyMcDonald’s Rewards scheme."
